Demon's Bond: Something very clever I noticed about Shin's route

...which is very rapidly growing on me.

In the Chitose, Kazuya and Kazutake routes, Yukina has an arc about being both a strong warrior and a woman, and it's resolved in different ways. In the Kazuya route she's absolutely a warrior but because she's a woman she comes to prefer different fighting strategies that use stealth and speed rather than strength. In the Kazutake route, she can be a warrior as long as he's stronger and can protect her. In the Chitose route, she learns to both fight as a clan leader, with strength equal to his, and to perform femininity in ways that don't involve her being less strong. One key moment is when she sews for Chitose, which both of them see as her performing femininity, and she's not very good at it but she tries and he loves her for it.

In the Shin route, Yukina comes to wonder if being the strongest warrior is maybe not the right goal. In a scene at the end of chapter 9, Yukina holds herself back when under attack by not!Furies because she realizes that they are victims and not her enemy even though they are fighting her. And, damn, I cheered like heck when she defeated them in earlier routes and now I'm having some pretty mixed feelings about that.

When she questions whether fighting is always the right thing she's learning from Shin, who objects to fighting, and instead of fighting... he sews.

Okay game, you now have my attention. That was very, very clever. And one *heck* of a delayed payoff for the sewing scene in the Chitose route.
