He hires other people to work in the kitchen instead of her because she was working there with Sakon. Who does actually genuinely care for her, at least in Mitsunari's route, but he's never inappropriate about it. Given how important cooking is to her, this is genuine certifiable bad behavior, and she gets pretty mad.

I'll get to Ieyasu next. I think Ieyasu's MC and Hideyoshi's MC have in common the ability to look at bad behavior from their dudes and see the caring behind it, although it's sort of opposite kinds of bad behavior.
