I enjoyed reading it but unfortunately the plot just sort of fizzled out. I still liked it, though.
Most of the route is Nobunaga investigating the state of the country. It's very prosperous (Mitsuhide's doing) but there are also random and poorly justified rebellions (Ieyasu's doing) and a random invasion of 'Choson' (Hideyoshi's doing). Eventually Nobunaga makes it to Azuchi castle where nearly everyone wants him to take rule back. Even Ieyasu seems to want that, although he expresses it by giving a villain monologue saying that since Nobunaga left him he's going to ruin everything.
Nobunaga doesn't. Instead he goes to the port where Danming is (justifiably) invading. I say justifiably because Ieyasu is attacking their ships and Hideyoshi is attaching their ally Choson. So I was expecting some sort of resolution where Nobunaga tells the invaders that Ieyasu and Hideyoshi are being removed from power so they can stop invading. But that wasn't at all what happened. Instead Nobunaga uses his weapons-trading to get canons to chase away the Danming navies. Mitsuhide belatedly arrives and says he's going to parley. Maybe he'll do the sensible thing? But I don't think Mitsuhide knows what Ieyasu and Hideyoshi are up to and Nobunaga doesn't tell him, and we don't end up finding out how the parley is resolved.
The story ends with Nobunaga and MC on the way to Europe, with Nobunaga telling MC that from now on he'll never be anything but a weapons trader.
So the ending felt like a bit of a letdown. Maybe I picked the wrong ending? I dunno.
Options for next route:
Kyoichiro, because I haven't done a shadow route yet and that looks like the most interesting one. Plus Hideyoshi is in it, as an employer or antagonist or both, I'm not sure.
Masamune or Kojuro, because I keep liking their event stories.
