Yeah, it was really weird. I thought the whole arc was setting up Nobunaga taking Divine Rule again, especially since the people he left in charge are making kind of a mess out of it. And the whole thing is set up as a mystery of why Danming is invading and what is up with the rebellions, but once we find out Nobunaga doesn't try to stop Ieyasu and Hideyoshi in any way.
I did enjoy the route, though, it was fun watching Nobunaga go around the country and see what became of it under his heirs. It was also fun watching Nobunaga and MC in an established relationship and watching her get more confident in the relationship.
