SLBP Nobuyuki route (to Divine end)

MC is on her way home when she realizes that the Sanada are under attack. She manages to find out from their ninja Jinpachi that it would be greatly helpful if Nobuyuki could lead troops to battle to help his brother. But he can't, because one of the rules of the route is that Nobuyuki can't go to war because he has to stay home and defend the castle.

So MC goes back and tells Nobuyuki: How about you go help your brother and I defend the castle. Of course I'd only have the standing to do that if you marry me.

Nobuyuki realizes the sense in this and agrees. And I'm pretty happy, because hunh, after all that, they are a pretty good march for each other, they are both manipulative as fuck and they are both extremely determined to protect the Sanada.

In the end of course there's a fairly gooey confession of love but it didn't really land for me. What landed much better was how a few days later he casually moves her bedding to his room without explaining why, but then just kisses her once and then goes to sleep. And then a few days later she goes to him and demands sex. Yeah, that's about how I'd expect their relationship to proceed. I'm sure they are happily yandere at each other ever after.

Next up I think Kojiro, since I haven't done any of the Date clan yet and he looks most my type out of all of them.

Especially how in the middle of a bunch of history, the Wikipedia editors drop in this note:

It's also amusing given SLBP's characterisation of Honda Tadakatsu as Into Being Punished, considering the Tokugawa were on the other side of that battle and got trounced.

But the idea of Tadakatsu in the game sighing over a superior army, in front of his daughter made me cackle. :D

Oh interesting! I was wondering how MC is suddenly able to defend the castle when she doesn't have any background as a warrior, but I guess the answer is - because she is Nobuyuki's historical wife, who was a warrior. I'm glad that made it into the game.

Yeah! It might have been easier with Shadow!MC but I guess she probably didn't exist yet, and anyway Nobuyuki wouldn't fit the ninja LI theme.

I've only read a recap of the Noble Ending, which focused much more on Nobuyuki's manipulativeness. This sounds a lot more my jam than I expected.

Yes, this wasn't really what I was expecting from a yandere route, it was different than anything I've seen in the game so far and I liked it a lot.

For a long time I've definitely wanted to see an MC who is prepared to one-up her MC's manipulativeness and this route made made me happy.

Yeah. I do feel like the routes are starting to get a little repetitive for me. SLBP is the only mobile game I've consistently played so far, but it feels like it's missing a lot of the Mystery and dangling threads and difference between routes that makes console games more satisfying to me.

It's nice to know that they do sometimes try different things!

Yeah, like Demon's Bond or even Hakuouki don't really make sense until you do all the routes and see the differences between them. But I don't feel like doing one SLBP route makes me understand another one better in the same way.

Although a few routes do this - Nobunaga's and Shingen's mirror each other nicely.

I guess it takes so long to read a route that they can't assume anyone is going to read all of them.

Yes, exactly! The fragmented-yet-cohesive thing is lovely. I think I'm also way more interested in the MC than SLBP is; I don't think we ever learn much more about the MC between routes. Or at least, not in a way that feels canon or significant across routes.

Yeah. I think they also give away a lot in the events.
